compete for championships than sit at home with fat wallets. That being said, I do see a potential for an elephant to start looming in the room. The "elephant" is in the form of the level of influence the size of the conference's wallet can have on the number of national championships won by a conference and/or the number of times a conference even competes for a national championship.

At this point it doesn't make a lot of sense to continue evaluating decisions already made by the ACC. What's done is done so no point worrying about it since you can't change the past. However, going forward the ACC has to be mindful of not falling too far behind its peers. If the ACC loses sight of that then it could wake up one morning to find itself out of the group for one reason or another.
